Regular (voting) Members: To become a Regular Member, an application should be submitted by an Owner and/or Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or other equivalent leader of an “Independent Tax Firm,” defined as a for-profit firm for which income tax preparation is its core business and it derives at least one-third (33-1/3%) of its annual revenue from tax preparation and related services and products, and is not affiliated with a “National Tax Firm” (a firm having offices in four or more states). The application must also demonstrate a commitment to growth, and be in full agreement with and willing to abide by NATBO’s Vision, Mission and Values. Regular Members are eligible to vote and will realize full benefits of membership.
Associate Members: An Independent Tax Business owner or other individual who does not meet the criteria to be a Regular Member, but who would be an asset to NATBO may submit an application to be made non-voting Associate Member by affirmative vote of two-thirds of the Board of Directors.
Sponsor Members: A firm may be admitted as a Sponsor (to provide financial and other support to NATBO) upon written application and affirmative vote of two-thirds of the Board of Directors. National Tax Firms and firms that compete with independent tax firms and do not qualify to become Regular Members do not qualify to become Sponsor. Sponsors shall have the right to attend NATBO events and avail themselves of all of other NATBO Sponsor benefits.
To be considered for membership, complete an application, which will be reviewed by the NATBO Board of Directors.
