John Striewe entered college at age 18 and earned his B.S. Accounting degree from Ball State University in three years. He worked full time while attending school. After working two years at H&R Block, John started his own tax business.

John Striewe founded Fiscal Tax Company in 1976, and he serves as President. Fiscal Tax Company started franchising in 1990 and now has over 30 franchisees and 200 + associates with offices in MARSH, Kroger, O’Malia’s, and LoBill Food stores. Fiscal Tax Company was a leader in offering computerized tax services in 1983, and has prepared over 300,000 tax returns since 1976.

Simultaneously, with growing Fiscal Tax Company, John worked 28 years for Ford Motor Company in the Finance department and retired as an assistant controller. The tax business benefited from the knowledge gained by working for a large company and its disciplines, structure, and continuous training programs. Ford benefited from John’s entrepreneurial approach to starting and operating a tax business.
